Angels & Demons

The Robert Langdon films are a series of American action - adventure mystery - thriller movies directed by Ron Howard. The films are based on the novels written by Dan Brown , and center around the fictional character of Robert Langdon. A murder inside the Louvre and clues in Da Vinci paintings lead to the discovery of a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years, which could shake the foundations of Christianity. Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon continues to work to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist act against the Vatican. When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, and together they must race across Europe against the clock to foil a deadly global plot. Following the worldwide successes of the first two films, [2] [3] Columbia Pictures began development on a film adaptation of The Lost Symbol.

Aug 20, AM. I've been thinking about this lately, mostly due to the fact The DaVinci Code was written before it's prequel Angel's and Demons. I was thinking I'm not positive, i'm still finishing The DaVinci Code but I was just curious as to what others thought because while reading The DaVinci Code I thought to myself "Reading Angels and Demons definitley gave me some character backgrounds and helpful hints but it wasn't necessary to read it if you want to read The DaVinci Code? Am I wrong?

Langdon is portrayed as a Harvard University professor of religious iconology and symbology , a fictional field related to the study of historic symbols, which is not methodologically connected to the actual discipline of semiotics. Brown's novels that feature the lead character also include historical themes and Christianity as motifs, and as a result have generated controversy. Brown states on his website that his books are not anti-Christian , and that he is on a "constant spiritual journey" himself.

His father being a mathematics teacher at the Phillips Exeter Accademy, the young Dan Brown grew up in the Campus with his two younger siblings and his mother, a singer and musician. In the year he graduated in English and Spanish at the Amherst College. The will to establish himself as a singer and songwriter brought him to move to Los Angeles, where he worked as a Spanish teacher at Beverly Hills Preparatory school and where he met his wife to be: Blythe Newlon. The success of the book was followed by the success of the movie inspired by The Da Vinci code, released in , directed by Ron Haward and featuring Tom Hanks in the role of Robert Langdon. The Da Vinci Code, published in starts with a man, the curator of the Louvre, found dead in the museum with strange symbols written all over his body. The Harvard symbology expert Robert Langdon is called to investigate on the murder and to guide the reader through a perilous journey across symbols, puzzles, codes and a battle between the Opus Dei and The Priority of Sion at the end of which there is an explosive and hidden truth which could waver the solid tenets of Christianity. The central point of the alternative religious history would see the Merovingian kings of France as descendants of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene.
